  • DeRidder stayed in it until the end, but Buckeye pulled away late in a 6-2 victory on Friday. The game was tied at two with Buckeye batting in the bottom of the fifth when Hockersmith singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
  • DeRidder opened up scoring in the first inning, when Parker Taylor singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
  • In the bottom of the fourth inning, Buckeye tied things up at two. Thomas drove in one when he singled.
  • Humphries was the winning pitcher for Buckeye. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out three.
  • Dakota Courtney took the loss for DeRidder. He surrendered six runs on nine hits over five and a third innings, striking out five.
